Great for: Brunch with friends or a morning-after-a-night-out brekkie
With a coffee in hand she had already narrowed her options down to two – she doesn’t waste time. The first thing to point out is the full-on 80s music – oh my god – so much fun! From the Jitterbug to Michael Jackson, you can see why this place is popular, and who doesn’t want to have a sing-a-long while you wait for your food to arrive?
Scanning through the menu I found the bottomless drink option (glory!!!) at £25 (WHAT?)*. To be fair the drinks list was quite impressive: prosecco, mimosas and 5 types of Bloody Mary. Since I'm not a fan of BMs I decided to pass, considering I did not want to be refused entry to the flight the next morning and drinking enough to breakeven on the £25 charge would not be wise. I was a little disappointed that there was no separate breakfast/brunch drinks menu - they had beer and wine but a customised breakfast option would've been nice. With summer (supposedly) in full force I asked about the juices, and discovered that all but the pressed orange juice were boxed so I went for the fresh lemonade - it was the best choice I could've made.
The food menu had a small but interesting variety of traditional dishes and twists on these, such as the eggs Benedict with pork belly instead of ham. With almost half of the options being vegetarian, and a couple being also dairy free, it seemed like a well-rounded menu adding their own meaty stamp to London’s brunch offering.
The order:
- Belgian waffles with maple syrup, berries and grilled banana with a scoop of cream
- Roasted corn & crushed avocado on sourdough toast with poached egg
- Bottomless coffee
- Fresh lemonade
After a happy stomach we walked to Spitalfields market to explore the Gelato Festival. I was so excited about this, it was going to be so sweet!! My expectations were maybe too high though, this time they were not met. Too little ice cream, too much dolla... Maybe next time? Off to Gelato Mio then.
To try next time:
- Huevos rancheros
- Buttermilk Pancakes with berries
- Truffled toast
- Bottomless Mimosas (celebration!)

*: I WAS WRONG - previous comment stated that bottomless liquid was available on Sundays (following a rant on my side - sorry!). To everyone's relief (and this bruncher's in particular) bottomless liquid brunch is indeed available on Saturdays too - thanks to ever so helpful Adam for pointing this out! We can all breathe now and go booze on Saturday. YAY!!!
