Best for: Poached eggs, all day Sunday brunch and sunny days!
We were already considering our options when it happened - the horror - the waiter came over and presented us with the lunch menu. THE LUNCH MENU. Cry. You have no idea how disappointed I sounded when I asked whther they were doing brunch anymore – apparently they only do Brunch on Saturdays until 11.30am. I felt a stab - this was really not my day. Someone, somewhere must have heard my prayers! A few minutes later the same waiter came back and swapped our menus. Because the restaurant wasn't busy, the chef said we could order from the breakfast menu. I swear to god I have never been happier in my life. I could breathe again! More importantly, I would get my poached eggs! This is what I call going the extra mile - excellent customer service! We settled on one Eggs Royale and one Eggs Benedict – after all, the reason we were there in the first place - a couple of glasses of prosecco and we were good to go.
The order:
- Eggs Benedict: English muffin, carved ham, poached eggs and hollandaise
- Eggs Royale: English muffin, smoked salmon, wilted spinach, poached eggs and hollandaise
- 2 glasses of Prosecco
Definitely a place to visit! And if Chelsea is slightly too west you should check out their Notting Hill and South Ken branches!
To try next time:
- Avocado and poached eggs on toast
