Enter through an unmarked door, then stand in confusion faced with the decision of another door or a set of stairs – take the stairs. Make your way up the neon-lit stairwell to the first floor and enter an open-plan room divided only by the central bar and some large floral arrangements. A baby grand in the corner may be tinkling with some relaxing music if you’re lucky – not on this occasion, but on previous visits I’ve had the pleasure.
The service is on point and unobtrusive – after ordering a round of coffees we got straight to the food (we’d already decided days in advance what we were having!).
The order:
- Avocado on toast, poached egg, onion, sriracha
- Layered potatoes
- 2 x Bistrotheque breakfast – sausage, bacon, boston baked beans, layered potato, egg, toast
- Eggs Royale
- 2 x Americano
- 2 x Latte
This is definitely one to return to.
To try next time:
- Pancakes, bacon, maple syrup (they looked INCREDIBLE)
- Poached stone fruit, oat & flax seed granola, yoghurt & honey
