Best for: A quick pit stop while browsing Broadway Market
As an East London local I visit Broadway Market on the regular, and I’ve been eyeing Tiosk for the grand total of 9 months that it’s been open (a newbie!). It’s a small, whitewashed corner café with a relatively minimal interior and wooden accents – there’s a definite Scandi vibe and that must have attracted my Norwegian roots. Their main focus seems to be their tea selection (which is, by the way, extensive), but it was their wholesome and natural approach to food that caught my eye – it can be hard to find dairy-free and/or vegan options!
I’m ashamed to say that on this occasion no poach was involved (*sharp intake of breath*). However, the food was too good to not review! I’d taken my sister Imogen for some food indulgence at Broadway on her last day in London, and she selected Tiosk for our food break. This turned out to be an excellent choice.
The order:
The order:
- Wholesome Bowl – 2 Salads of the Day with Smoked Salmon and Smashed Avocado
- Toasted Sourdough with Smoked Salmon and Dairy-Free Cream Cheese
We were both floored at the thick-cut, Nordic smoked salmon – it was absolute heaven. I was extremely pleased with my salad mix, it had a lovely dressing and the avocado was just right. Imogen was quite impressed that “dairy free cream cheese tastes just like the real thing!” All in all, happy (and full) bellies all round.
